New South Wales State Election 2023

The New South Wales State Election will take place on Saturday 25 March 2023. 

If you’re taking part in the 2023 NSW State election by postal vote overseas, we’re providing collection services. Between 20 March and 24 March, you can drop off your completed vote at the Consulate-General between 9am to 4pm, Monday-Friday (open during lunch hours).

Key Dates

  • 6 March: Close of the electoral roll at 6pm AEDT
  • 20 March: Postal vote applications close at 6pm AEDT
  • 20-24 March: Completed ballots can be dropped off at the Consulate between 9am-4pm HKT
  • 25 March (Election day): The Consulate is closed and completed ballots must be sent to the NSW Electoral Commission directly
  • 6 April: Your completed ballot papers and postal vote certificate must be received by the NSW Electoral Commission by 6pm AEST to be counted
