Where to apply

Depending on the type of visa you are applying for, applications can be submitted online or at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC).

Applying online

The Department of Home Affairs encourages clients to use online services where available through the Department's ImmiAccount portal.

Further information about lodging an application and using other ImmiAccount services (including quick reference guides) is available on the Department of Home Affairs website at:
http://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Immi

Technical support enquiries must be lodged via the ImmiAccount Technical Support Form at: http://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Immi/immiaccount-technical-support-form

Applying at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Hong Kong

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, from Tuesday 7 April 2020 AVAC services will be temporarily suspended until further notice. This means that you will not be able to submit your application in person or by mail to the AVAC in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong. The Department of Home Affairs’ online visa lodgement services however remain available and most visa and citizenship applications can still be lodged through the Department’s ImmiAccount portal.
